Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 1982. Maggie Grace is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Originating from Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school and moved to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's principal character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the television series in 2005 to focus on an even more prominent role in movies, and had a role in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She has appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until 2014. She portrays Faith as a fan and muse of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small roles in several of her father's films and appeared together with her brother in cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent earned her nomination for an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In the following years she was a part of comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Some of her other roles are as an agent of The Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014 and also the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the main character. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
