John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk pop music touched the hearts of millions. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to move to the state. There isn't any other performer who embodies Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people across the globe. In all my travels I have met many people who are not from Colorado. People will say, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you come from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk bands. The song was written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had originally written the tune to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver was aware from the very first time he heard the first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant success. The song was recorded within a couple of days of playing at Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
